Best ‘indian’ meal we’ve eaten in south Wales. Highly recommended for friendly service and food certainly above average with a comprehensive menu offering interesting variations.

General Comments:
In contrast to a previous review, we found Elaichi’s food to be good, with a wide variety of choice in their menu. The menu includes plenty of unusual dishes as well as the standard curry house favourites.
This was our fourth visit to Elaichi, and on every visit we found the meals to be of good quality, and their service was impeccable. For vegetarians like us, it might seem that there aren’t many veggie dishes on the menu, but they’ve always managed to adapt the meat dishes into veggie ones when we requested them, so it’s worth asking. Our meat-eating friends have always found Elaichi’s meat dishes to be good.
Price-wise, Elaichi is fine. Our 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 beers and 3 poppadoms and side dishes cost £38.

Party Size: 2
Meal Cost: £35.00
Food Quality: Poor
Value for Money: Average
Waiter Service: Good
How hot were face towels: Scalding
Restaurant Plus Points: service
Restaurant Negative Points: the food, meat not marinated and tasted like no spices used
General Comments:
This is the worst Indian meal I’ve tasted, it lacked spices and fresh meat. Cook-in sauces have more flavour and taste. I’ve sampled Birmingham Balti houses, Bradford restaurants and provincial curry houses over the past 35 years and ELIACHI is very poor. There is Indian take-away 100 metres east which provides reasonable quality menu.. AVOID ELIACHI at all costs.
